Things to Do in Dubai

From its roots as a small fishing village that wasn't much more than a passing place

of interest to the thriving centre of commerce and industry that it is today, Dubai has certainly came a long way in a short time.

And even though today it's best known as one of the top business destinations in the world, Dubai has still carved out an impressive tourist industry for itself, which makes it just as fantastic a place to visit on a sightseeing tour as it is a backdrop to that next big deal.

There's plenty to see and do in Dubai that caters to all tastes and types. Whether you're the sort of holidaymaker that loves to snap shots of beautiful buildings and scenery before relaxing on the beach and enjoying a soothing walk along the ocean's edge or a party animal who loves nothing more than dancing the night away, getting to bed late, sleeping in and waking up in time to do it all over again, Dubai has it all.

One of the main sights of Dubai is the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest skyscraper. Standing at around 2,800 feet tall, this enormous building puts other challengers like the Warsaw Radio Mast and the CN Tower to shame. However, if you truly want to get a taste of what the Emirates are like, there's nothing quite as special as hopping on a 4x4 and being driven around the desert on an incredible safari trip taking in the exciting landscape around Dubai. This adventurous activity will see you rolling over sand dunes being driven by an expert navigator - so while it may feel like a bumpy ride, you couldn't be in safer hands.

After all that excitement, it's time to check out Dubai's excellent restaurants for a bite to eat. There are plenty to choose from, and if you want to see how the Emirates take on British food then why not pop into Biggles English Pub, a unique bar and restaurant decorated in WWII themed memorabilia, with a focus on aviation. The food is as fantastic as the surroundings. Later, if you need to cool off, there are myriad water parks where you can make a splash with friends and enjoy some fun in the sun.

Dubai is a fantastic place to visit and, once you've explored all there is to see and do you can look forward to staying in one of the relaxing Dubai hotels - that is until the next day, when it's time to get out and explore some more!
