The possible answers for these would be to attain a new skill, to impress people, to boost your ego, to accomplish something, to continue a family tradition and others. So then why is this important? Why would you want to ask yourself and answer these questions? Of course, there is a reason for everything. And that in itself explains why. If you do not have a reason to do something, then why do it, right? If you do not know of what you can accomplish and do not have a goal, then why bother getting into something that will prove meaningless to you? If you aren't too sure about your reasons, ask the people around you and then make a list of the possible things you will get from taking piano lessons. Make sure that there is personal interest and personal gains in your choices because if there aren't, it might prove to be a hindrance in your learning. If you aren't motivated enough, you might not be able to attain your goal, much less learn anything.

If you've completely settled on your reasons and merits, it is now time to make your plan of action. Of course, in all goals, there is always the element of time involved. The third W is all about that. Are you planning on learning the skill soonest? Or are you not quite concerned about time since you're just doing this for leisure? It is important to think about these things because these will be essential in answering your fourth W.

Basically you need to decide whether you want to have a summer crash course in some music school, have personal lessons with a good music teacher in his music studio, or have someone you know teach you at home at your own free time. Also, there are online piano lessons and teaching materials you can get that allow you to learn on your own with or without pay. Speaking of pay, you must always consider the amount of money you're willing to spend for these lessons. If you get a professional to teach you, they might ask for a certain fee, and mind you, it's not at a cheap price. But of course, professionals are experts at what they do and you'll get the most of your money. On the other hand, if you ask your friends to teach you or get instructional videos online, you might just get your lessons for free.
