Thinking About Using PodCasts?

After hearing from our clients that they were looking for short

, concise, simple pieces for internal use, Metro started brainstorming. We wanted to create something clean and efficient, something that could be used as a Podcast or on a website, and something that would keep costs low while still engaging the viewer. With all this in mind, we created a format for short streaming video segments. With a length of under a minute each, these would be targeted toward company employees or others with an interest in company information and updates. These short pieces would be either scripted and read from a teleprompter, or done candidly with guiding questions being asked by a producer.

The information to be conveyed in these segments could be just about anything-- changes to company policy, pertinent information, introductions to new staff, or even simple motivation pieces, designed to encourage the hard work of your employees, and keep them invested in their company. Use these segments in any way you see fit, and also keep the footage for later utilization.

The structure of these segments is very simple: one or two people in front of a white background in our studio, with minimal graphics or other distractions. A company logo and the person's name and title would be present, but aside from that, it's a basic, short segment with a person talking about the subject you're addressing. Editing and audio are simple as well: you want the message of the person to be the focus, and the goal is also to keep costs down.

Metro has created many of these short segments for Bon Secours Health System, which they use to motivate and inform their employees weekly. The segments are posted to an internal website each week, and employees are always excited to log on and see who was featured whether it was a janitor or the CEO that week.

These segments can be delivered as streaming files via our password-protected FTP site, which allows the client to download them directly to his or her computer, and use them however they desire, whether it be as a Podcast, internal website, or even putting it on YouTube. They are short, effective, and cost-efficient pieces, and can fulfill a variety of company needs.
