Many companies hesitate to allow this practice due to the risk of fraud. After all, it is difficult to think off hand of a legitimate reason why this practice would be necessary. However, there are times when billing in this particular way makes the most sense for the client, and courier services would do well to allow this practice as an added benefit for their clients.

It is important to remember that, no matter how efficacious third-party billing would be to your business, it is ultimately the decision of the Denver courier service that you are using as to whether or not it will be allowed. You can lobby them to allow it, particularly if you are a large, regular customer, however. You will want to make certain, however, to outline why it makes sense and why it is in their best interest to do so without risk of legal or ethical concerns.

One circumstance in which it might be relatively easy to convince your Denver courier service to allow this practice would be if the shipper, the receiver, and the third party payer are account holders with the courier service. The courier company can then make reasonably certain that everything is on the "up and up." Probably the one situation that most Denver courier services are comfortable with allowing third party payment and do so on a regular basis is when a delivery is sent COD. COD is becoming less and less common, however, as credit becomes more and more ubiquitous. Normally, the delivery service will only allow this on a regular basis for high volume, regular customers. In this case, they risk more by offending the customer than they do by accepting this type of payment.
