Three Thanksgiving Layout Ideas
The basic elements for a Thanksgiving layout include autumn leaves and a turkey
. Cornucopias full of food are also common this time of year. Many of us want something different every year so here are a few ideas to help you spice things up year after year.
Fall colors are beautiful and calming to most. There are many colors to this time of year and a lot of them can be used without repeating them. Burnt oranges, reds, browns, yellows, greens and many more. All of these colors can be used separately or can be combined together to make a beautiful array of colors for your layout. Copper is also another great color choice that can be used.
Origins
Thanksgiving is the celebration of when the first settlers had a feast in the USA. Unless you happen to be a Native American, your family came from another country and arrived in the USA.
A great layout to use is the origin where your family came from. You can do a few of them or each year you can do a different one. Try to find out who was the first member of your family to arrive here in the US and highlight that person on the page. You can become a part of any genealogy sites that can help track down ancestors for you. This can also be a fun project to help you learn about the history of your family.
Things to be Thankful For
Pictures are always the main focus of a page. Let them take a break this year and try to think of a few things that you are thankful for. You can include a small picture but try to not focus on having pictures. Include a small description of each item and why you are thankful for that certain thing. You can make your tags out of things such as leaves. Cut them out of colorful papers and add them to your page. You can use metallic markers to write on the tags or you can use glitter pens.
Food
In the US, food is the dominant factor of Thanksgiving and also a tradition just as presents dominate Christmas in other countries.
How do you carry out a family tradition? Put it all in a scrapbook. Make new memories each year with your traditions and capture them in one. Whether it is a special recipe or other traditions that are carried out by the family.
Take pictures of family and friends as they eat, drink and enjoy each other's company laughing and having a good time. These are great memories to capture. If you have a great pumpkin pie recipe take a picture and add the recipe to the scrapbook. Then everyone will know your secret ingredient.
There is a saying that says "The Best Things in Life Aren't Things." This is used a lot by scrapbookers all over the world.
