Once I just thought that everything I needed to know was contained in the various kinds of books: If I'd like to be knowledgeable, I should lay special emphasis in my textbooks, and if I want to be fashionable, I only need to read various kinds of fashion magazines.
I have to admit that the knowledge I gain in the books is quite useful and it helps me to grow mentally mature. I am able to tell right from wrong after reading. And I am able to appreciate things in the world after looking at pictures that are put in the books and reading essays which describe the beautiful scenery in the world. Moreover, I am informed of the life experience of different celebrities, so that I can warn myself not to do the wrong things they've done and not to go the wrong ways they've gone.
But with time passing by, I began to know that life itself is a better teacher than all the books. For all the knowledge you have learned from books should be applied to practical lives. And only life can tell whether the knowledge you've possessed is true or not.
