There are some tiger stuffed animals on the market that are simply stunning

. Take for instance, the tiger stuffed animals that can be found in online stores. Some have three, four, and even six foot length tiger stuffed animals, some of which come with sound. In addition, there are soft, floppy tiger stuffed animals, that makes an ideal plush pillow if ever you feel inclined to use it that way.

The tiger is the largest cat in the world and is easily recognized by its orange coloring and black stripes, though no two tigers ever have the same stripe patterns. You could say that their stripes act as a genetic fingerprint making it easier to identify one from the next. Tigers can weigh up to 720 pounds and reach lengths of six feet. They are solitary animals and prefer hunting alone. With their power, strength and size, tigers can bring down antelope and deer by themselves. They also have excellent eye sight and hunt at night.

While we know that generally speaking, cats of all kinds (including those that are wild), don't take very well to water. Tigers, on the other hand, love the water and are excellent swimmers. They are also known to soak themselves in water to cool themselves off. While it might seem like a great idea to take a tiger stuffed animal swimming, their plush bodies won't do very well if they get wet.

Purchasing a tiger stuffed animal is a wonderful way to bring more attention to their plight. With over-hunting and loss of habitat due to farming, development, and logging, all species of tiger are endangered. There was once eight species of tiger roaming the world, but three of them were wiped out in the early 80's: Caspian, Bali, and Java tigers. Tigers could also once be found all over Asia less than a hundred years ago, but today, just 7% of their range (in Asia) remains. There may very well come a time when the only way we will ever be able to see tigers, is by purchasing the plush kind.

Tigers live in varying temperatures but only in 12 areas of the world including Russia, China, India, and Thailand. Even if you were to travel to any of the tiger's homes, the chances of ever seeing them in the wild is remote. With a tiger stuffed animal, however, you can look at it, hug it, and have it for as long as you want.
