We need to consciously make an effort to take good care of our eyes and this can be done by following certain healthy tips. The unhygienic environment also aggravates eye problems and deteriorates the beauty of our eyes.
Eye problems like dark circles and crow's feet are encountered if we do not take good care of our eyes. There are various eye care measures which are quite helpful.
First and foremost, eyes need enough rest. Our eyes get tired just like any other part of the body. People sometimes experience migraine when they drive during the night as there are strong lights on the road and these bright lights are strenuous to your eyes. Eyes which get adequate rest are less prone to these migraine problems. Thus, we can summarise that rest for your eyes is the best possible way to care for your eyes.
Proper and healthy diet is another very important tip to which people do not pay heed. Have a lavish diet of yellow vegetables and fruits. These veggies and fruits have rich quantities of beta carotene. Some of the foods which contain these are spinach, squash, mangoes and papaya. They are also beneficial for the overall health of our eyes. Water is a universal cleanser. It helps to keep our body and skin hydrated. Drinking plenty of water helps to remove eye puffiness. When the body gets dehydrated, it leads to puffiness. It has been proved that drinking eight to ten glasses of water daily is the ideal detoxifier.
It is important to exercise your eyes everyday. Simple eye exercise helps in the supply of oxygen to our eyes and makes them function better. The best way to relax your eyes is to close your eyes and place your palms over them lightly.
It is advised that you avoid excessive rubbing of your eyes as they are quite sensitive. If you find that they are irritated, then there is a chance that there is some alien matter in your eyes. You could get rid of it by washing them gently with milk.
It reduces the irritation in the eyes. During the scorching summer, it is advised that you wear sunglasses when you venture out. It helps to protect your eyes from the strong sun rays. Place tea bags or cucumber slices under your eyes as it is quite soothing. It helps to prevent dark circles around the eyes. Placing two potato slices around the eyes for about twenty minutes helps to get rid of dark circles.
