, the thing that makes getting dressed in the morning such a chore, and the thing that is a source of much irritation and frustration. But, if you systematically find a way to organize your items, you will find that getting ready becomes a much easier feat and something that will save you time, energy, and a headache.

When organizing your closet, the best way to do it is by formality of clothing. It is good to section clothes together that are most alike in the type of occasion you would wear them for. So, for example, keeping all your casual shirts together is a great way to make it easier to find something to wear when you are going out shopping or meeting some friends for a movie. Likewise, it is good to keep your formal wear and more stylish clothes together, and your most fancy dresses grouped, as well.

If you have a closet with a rack to hang things on, save that space for your dresses, your skirts, and any good blouses that wrinkle easy. You want to make sure that you don't over stuff your racks because that can often be more destructive than constructive. Things get crowded, things fall and get lost, you feel suffocated by all of the piles of clothes, and the best thing to do is to try to keep it minimally fit and do not allow things to share hangers. Designate one hanger to each outfit so that putting it away again is easy. Many times, three dresses share a hanger and when it is time to undress, you see no place open for it and so you just toss it in a corner and a giant mess begins to form.

So, the best thing to do is to compartmentalize your different outfits by genre so that when looking for an outfit, you are easily able to spot exactly what you need. Another handy and nifty trick is to assort clothes by garment. Keep all of your shirts together but separate them from your pants, which you will put in another location altogether. This will help you know what kind of outfit you need and from where to get it. This way you know exactly where all your bottoms are and it will save you time when you are trying to find something to match with your shirt. However, if you have outfits that are pretty well coordinated and you usually do not mix and match, then keeping the entire outfits together might be the best thing.

Shelves are a wonderful accessory to any closet. You can install these yourselves or buy some to put against the walls, but they are a great and space conservative way to keep your clothing organized. You can keep your shorts on them, your undergarments, and even some of your other delicate night clothes and intimates. Keeping your jeans in some kind of trough or floor lining drawer is good because jeans tend to weigh more and might cause strain on your shelves.
