1. Be prepared: It is an essential prerequisite for delivering an effective presentation. You must be very well prepared. Do an effective home study. You must have a clear understanding of what you are going to present and must be prepared for the possible doubts or questions that your audience might ask you. It is very important to have a clear idea about which slide of your presentation consists of what. It helps you in delivering the presentation very effectively and in a well composed manner.
2. Be confident: Once you are well prepared for your presentation, there is nothing to worry about. Be confident. The confidence level you possess gets transferred to your audience when you give the presentation. If you are not confident about yourself and about your presentation, then the audience wont be as attentive as you expect them to be.
3. Have a good command over the language: No matter how confident and well prepared you are. Your presentation will remain ineffective till the time you dont have a good command over the language in which you have to converse. Imagine a person who is fumbling while speaking and speaks absurd language while giving presentation. Would you even listen to him? Dont worry if you are not very fluent in a language. The best and the least you can do is- learn language.
4. Maintain eye contact: Dont look at the wall while giving your presentation, eye contact is very important. Maintain eye contact with your audience. This makes them stay attentive throughout your presentation. However dont make an eye contact with a particular person rather look at every one. Gazing at a particular person may distract you and make the person uncomfortable too.
5. Make it entertaining: Dont let your presentation be monotonous. Make it entertaining for your audience. Pull out your sense of humor from within. Crack jokes related to the subject matter. Dont go off the track while doing so. Support your presentation with live examples and illustrations that might entertain the audience. However, you must be very smart while doing so.
6. Let the audience speak: Once you are done with your presentation, give some time to the audience and allow them to speak. They might be having several doubts about your idea or presentation. Let them ask that. Listen to what they say and clear their doubts with maximum of your ability. In the end thank them for listening to you with keen interest.
