Tips For Shower Designs
If you are considering renovating that old bathroom or turning a spare room in your
home into a second or third bathroom, here are a few tips that may help make the job of shower design a little easier.
Do Some Experimenting on Paper
Before shopping for that new shower for your new or renovated bathroom, do some experimenting on paper. By drawing out a scale of your bathroom and placing the commode, vanity and shower in different places you will be able to have a vision in your mind of what your bathroom will look like and the amount of space you will have available for your shower. Keep in mind the placement of water pipes as well as how that will affect the placement of various bathroom furniture.
Consider Your Bathroom's Overall Theme
If you are designing a country style bathroom then you are not going to want to choose an overly modern shower design. On the other hand, if you are going for a modern look in your bathroom you are not going to want to choose materials for your shower that are too traditional looking. Keep in mind your bathroom's overall theme when deciding what materials and fittings to use in your shower designs.
Consider How To Enhance Your Bathroom's Look
If you have an extremely small bathroom then choosing a solid material that will make your shower look closed in will also make your bathroom look smaller. In small bathrooms, glass shower enclosures and doors can give the illusion of more space and make your bathroom look and feel more open and less claustrophobic.
Consider Your Comfort
The bathroom is the most used room in the house, so consider your comfort level when creating your shower design. Having a shower design that is beautiful and elegant makes the time you spend in the bathroom more comfortable. No one wants to take a shower in a bathroom that makes you feel depressed and cramped.
Frameless shower doors can create a more comfortable, less broken up feeling in your bathroom, while nicely framed shower doors can give you the feeling of sturdiness. You also need to decide if a built in washing bench will make you more comfortable or if standing room only is the way to go. Other considerations such as shelves to place shampoo and soaps on can also make a difference to how practical and comfortable your shower is.
Consider Your Budget
Shower designs can run from relatively inexpensive to outlandishly costly and you are going to have to consider your budget when choosing yours. You are going to want a design that looks chic and elegant without costing you an arm and a leg, which means that you may have to spend some time considering the must haves and the I wants before making your decision. You can usually get the look you want without breaking the bank if you take the time to plan carefully.
Choosing the right shower design for your bathroom may not always be easy but it can make a huge difference to how well your bathroom functions and looks as a whole. It can also make the difference between a bathroom you only use when you have to and one you love to spend time in.
