When Aciphex is recommended for treating ulcerative or erosive GERD, the recommended dosage for adults is 20mg daily for 4-8 weeks. In case adequate healing does not occur after eight weeks, another course may be recommended.

In case of treatment of heartburn due to GERD, the recommended dosage is 20mg daily for 4 weeks and an additional 4 weeks if the symptoms do not resolve.

Ulcers are treated with 20mg daily for a period of four weeks.

When the drug is prescribed for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, the starting dose for adults is 60mg daily. The dosage is adjusted according to any medical improvement.

The recommended dosage for treatment of helicobacter pylori is 20mg of Aciphex along with antibiotics, such as clarithromycin (500mg) and amoxicillin (1000mg). All these medicines are given twice daily for a period of seven days.

Precautions and Side Effects Related to Aciphex Aciphex should be swallowed as a whole and not crushed, split or chewed. The drug has some common side effects, such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, constipation, rash and headaches. This medicine should be used only according to the instructions given by your physician. High doses and long term use of Aciphex can increase your susceptibility to osteoporosis-related factures of the hip, wrist or spine. The medicine is unsuitable for consumption by children and people with liver problems.
