Tips For Visitor Parking Permits

Today, thousands of Americans live in communities that issue a vehicle parking permit to all the residents

. Now, while this comes with various benefits, such as increased security for you and your neighbors, as well preventing tourists or the like from taking up all the parking around, they also come with a few hassles and inconveniences.

One of the biggest annoyances, and one of the main reasons why people move out of communities that require parking permits, is where to tell guests to park. IF you are like me, or thousands of other Americans, you use your garage for storage, maybe one car, and tend to park in the driveway. While this gets your vehicles off the street, it leaves your guests and visitors stuck with having to park on the street where they will be ticketed or fined for not having the correct permits displayed.

One of the easiest ways around this is to get a couple visitor parking permits issued. Having a couple of them on hand could be the difference between having your friends and family visit and never having anyone come over. Remembering to make sure your guests use the permits is another story altogether. I found that having them hanging by the front door is a good starting point. That, and telling all of your friends and family that you have permits for them to use whenever they come over.

Many of the parking permits issued by communities are quite similar to student parking permits, so do not be surprised if they look somewhat familiar. Moreover, just like the parking permits used by students around the country, your extra permits are going to be easy to lose, especially if your guests forget about them in their car when they drive off. Be prepared to either ask for it back or get extras issued. Either way, it is a bit of a hassle so it might be best to just remember to take them back when your guests leave.
