It is also vital to have yellow fever vaccinations before you begin your safari. The Ugandan Shilling is the legal currency, dollars and the euro can easily be changed in the local banks. It is a requirement to acquire a visa early before the onset of your safari. Provisions have also been made to allow visa applications from Uganda missions abroad and also from border entry points.

Avoid walking at night alone and always keep all the essential documents in the hotels for your own safety. Just like in any part of the world, thieves and pickpockets are a problem operating in the night therefore you need to be careful with your jewelry and money. Its normally sunny and hot during the day and cool during the night therefore carry light and warm clothes, sunglasses and hats.
