Tips To Stay Lean This Holiday Season

Tips To Stay Lean This Holiday Season

You've been working hard all year to get in top shape. But now the holidays are here - and you're in danger of losing all gains you've worked so hard for.

And if your holiday plans include any kind of traveling, it gets even tougher. So here are five tips to help you stay in shape no matter what your plans are this year:

1. Get your workouts in ahead of time

Let's say that you always get four weekly workouts in - and you're travelling Thursday thru Sunday. Well, plan ahead and get your workouts inbefore you leave so you don't have to stress about it while you're gone.

2. Plan Ahead

This means bringing gym wear and gym shoes along with you when you travel. And it also means having a workout schedule in mind - whether that's a gym that you'll be using when you're gone or having a workout you can do wherever you are with your own body weight, resistance bands, etc.

3. Hit up the grocery store first thing

Instead of relying on what's available and leaving it to chance, make a grocery store run and grab some protein bars, fruit, nuts, etc. for healthy snacks to have on hand. It's a lot better than relying on hotel food or your relative's pantry stockpile.

4. Workout first thing in the morning

Even if you're out of your regular work routine, stuff always comes up during the day - so when on vacation or travellling for the holidays, knock your workout out first thing in the morning - it's likely the best time to ensure nothing gets in the way.

5. Plan for your 'cheat times' - and only cheat when it's 'worth it'

Therewill be times when you're going to deviate from your normal eating plan - and that's okay. But plan ahead - and don't cheat when you don't 'have' to. For example, breakfast is a time when there is very little social pressure to eat right - so stick to your plan. Plan your one or two cheat meals of the week for holiday dinners, etc., enjoy yourself, and then get right back on track.

Now you have five tips to help you stay lean this holiday season - follow these and you'll be well on your way to staying in top shape. Keep working hard and good luck!
