Tips When Choosing A Conference Venue

When hosting a conference or exhibition it is imperative that you choose the right

type of venue to hold it in, as many conference are made fantastic, or indeed ruined, because of issues with the venue.

Finding a conference venue will often seem tedious, but hang in there, with so many different styles of venue available it is only a matter of time before you find the ideal place in the right location. To speed up the process and take out some of the leg work it is always good to have a strong idea of the type of venue you want from the beginning so ask yourself some questions and draw up a list of must haves and another list of things you would quite like

First thing you need to ask yourself is how many attendees you will realistically have, as this is one of the biggest restraints on the venue you can use, and as part of this you need to consider the size of any break out rooms or any divides a venue might have and check they fit with the capacities you estimate for different attractions.

The next big decision is the image you want to portray of your business and the event itself. Do you want to seem like a large, affluent organisation, or are you after more a of a quirky image? Think about this carefully and then make sure the conference venue you choose strongly reflects this.

The location of the venue is also important, so think about where your delegates will be travelling from and make sure you choose somewhere close to the appropriate transport links, such as main motorways and train stations. It is also a prudent idea to check the availability and abundance of any accommodation in the area that may be required.

Lastly, consider the facilities you will need at the venue, and check things such as internet access, disabled access, provision for in house catering, and any other things you may require for your conference to run smoothly.
