When going on vacation for Spring Break, a little bit of advanced planning and research can go a long way towards an enjoyable holiday -especially if you are young and your parents get worried very easily.

1. Supplies

Consider how long you plan to be on vacation and make sure that you pack plenty of clothes, with an extra outfit just in case. You definitely do not want to be worrying about dirty laundry during your holiday.

2. Accommodation

Hotel reservations are a definite must during Spring Break. When making travel plans, grouping flight, hotel and car reservations together may save you additional costs. Check out the hotel amenities for such items as airport shuttles and on-site restaurants. Check with the hotel concierge for information about the local area and special event promotions.

3. Transportation

Plan how you will get around during your vacation, whether by rental car or public transportation. Make sure that you have transportation to and from the airport if you are flying. If you plan on walking, definitely check out the local weather forecast for the area.

4. Food

Plan ahead and consider where you would want to dine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some hotels offer a complimentary continental breakfast, which would be a quick and convenient way to start off the day. Dinner reservations would probably be recommended during this busy time of the year.

5. Entertainment

Your Spring Break location is most likely based on visiting or attending a specific event. Check ahead of time if tickets need to be purchased. If visiting a destination location, check the hours for when they are open each day.

Even though most businesses today accept credit cards, a little cash on hand, or travel money, is still needed for incidentals such as tips or parking and possibly even for souvenirs. If you are planning on visiting a location outside of your own country, keep in mind the type of currency for that country and make sure that you have the appropriate travel money. You definitely do not want to be in a foreign location with no local currency! Above all, have fund and enjoy your Spring Break holiday!
