Other emergency numbers are 112 in Europe and 999 in North America. Once you reach them, ask for the fire service and tell them to come to your home or office immediately. Don't forget to give them your address and describe the fire.
? Check everyone in your home or office and make sure everyone is accounted for. Take your pets outside too. Ask them to meet you at a safe meeting point.
? Never let your kids play or use the fire extinguisher. Don't let them put out the fire no matter how small it may be.
? Focus and don't panic. However, this is very hard to do in such cases so having prior training can help you a lot.
? Check your safety before you attempt to extinguish a fire. Ask yourself if you are physically capable? Kids, the elderly and people with disabilities will find it hard to carry and use one.
