Sometimes you might find that your system is not getting shutdown. The easiest solution to shut down your system is to turn it off from the power switch. But on a serious note if your system is being shutdown forcefully then it might result in loss of program files and registry entries. Eventually you might find that your system will not start at all.

There are few solutions that might solve the shutdown problem of your computer.

The first of the common problems is a program that is not responding. You should always close all the open programs. In order to close any of the open programs, start the task manager with the help CTRL-SHIFT-ESCAPE keys. Select the process tab and stop the necessary programs that are not getting closed manually.


It is necessary to update all the drivers on your computer. But as we all know that the drivers do get frequently updated in Windows and they get corrupt with the updated files in Windows. The solution to this is run Windows update or go the manufacturer site.

Another solution is to download the program named as Autoruns. This program is free to download from Microsoft. After you install this program just click on the winlogon tab and you can see what all programs getting started with your PC. You can stop the unwanted programs by un-checking the box next to the program name.

The next thing you can do is to check the windows event log. Click on the Windows start button, then to run type eventvwr and press ok. Once it opens just click on each tab and check if there is any exclamation marks appears on the right pane. Make a note of those errors and try to search them down in any search engines. It can be fixed easily. After this, just restart the system and check whether it shuts down properly.

If the problem still persists then it might occur due to corruption of damaged files. Manually solving the problem might take a long time.The easiest way to fix the problem is to update drivers and stop the loading of unwanted programs. It is necessary to download the scanner and run a complete scan to your computer. This will help to find the errors on your system and it will fix them quickly.
