Tired Of Your Breast Implants? Remove Them!

The amount of women who undergo breast augmentation surgery increases every year

. Because of technological advancements in the implant devices and the surgical procedure itself, breast augmentation is becoming safer and easier to perform. Young girls in their late teens are getting breast implants - some while they're still in high school. And some women in their sixties are deciding to have breast implants. Despite the high success rate for breast augmentation procedures, and the fact that the procedure can be performed at almost any age, some women simply aren't happy with their breast augmentation procedure. While it doesn't occur very often, a woman with a set of perfect breast implants will decide to have them removed for various reasons.

Why would a woman want her implants removed? That is a subjective question and there isn't a correct answer. After all, the decision to have the implants in the first place is strictly voluntary. The reasons for her dislike of the implants can vary. Some women feel that their new breasts are simply too big and do not represent her personality or character. Other women may not like being restricted from participating in physically demanding sports. Whatever her reason may be, any woman who has implants is certainly entitled to have them removed whenever she wishes.

When a woman decides to have her breast implants removed, she'll need to speak with a plastic surgeon that specializes in breast augmentation procedures. Hopefully she will be able to speak directly with the surgeon that performed her augmentation and get his or her advice on having the implants removed.

The first thing any surgeon is going to suggest is that she wait before having them removed, especially if her augmentation surgery was recently performed. This is particularly true if her reasons for wanting them removed have to do with excessive size. Immediately following breast augmentation surgery, a woman's breasts will be inflamed beyond the size she requested. For most women, the dramatic change can be quite a shock. She can go from having a very petite chest to having enormous breasts almost overnight. It can be a very emotional experience for any woman. However, the inflammation does subside, and if she can be patient and allow her body to fully heal from the procedure, she may be quite happy with the final result. For this reason, most surgeons will recommend a woman wait at least six months before she schedules surgery to remove the implants.

If you do get your implants removed, you need to realize that it will cost practically the same to have a breast augmentation procedure (less the cost of the breast implants themselves). You'll still need a skilled surgeon to perform the surgery, and you'll need an anesthesiologist as well as an approved surgical center. All aspects of the surgery cost money, and you'll need to pay for them again if you choose to have the implants removed.

If you're serious about getting your implants removed, schedule a consultation with your plastic surgeon. Explain to him why you feel its best to remove your implants. Ultimately, it's your body and the decision will be yours to make.

It's best to speak directly with a plastic surgeon when considering any form of invasive, plastic surgery procedure. Do not rely solely upon information you read from the internet - it could be outdated!
