To Correct Farsightedness, Undergo LASIK Monocular Vision Correction
Lasik is a preference for patients suffering from eyesight problems
, however, recently, it is reported that Lasik performs not so well in farsightedness correction, for the surgeons find it hard to merely restore eyes' capacity to focus close objects while keep their ability to see nearby objects clearly. That is to say, there is a risk for one to get their problem of farsightedness resolved at the expenses of losing distance focusing.
Then, does it mean that Lasik can not be applied in farsightedness correction? Absolutely it doesn't. In such a society where technology fast develops, researches show that monocular vision correction of Lasik is able to help patients that suffer from farsightedness. The word "monocular" indicate the surgery is only performed on one eye only.
More specifically speaking, the two eyes would cooperate with each other for the sake of getting a clear vision both near and far. The surgeon, before the surgery, will ask the patient to have an eye examination to check which one of the eyes is more suitable for correction and which is for distance viewing. The vision of one eye corrected, one eye aims at focusing on close up objects while the other one focusing on far away objects. And when the patient views an object, whether near or far, the brain would accept images from both eyes and merges the images thru complex processing.
One points needs reminding is that one is not advised to undergo the Lasik eye surgery once he/she finds he/she feels hard to observe objects far, because at the first one to two years of farsightedness, the eye condition is not stable. If you have the surgery done too early, when your eye condition get changed, you may feel hard to see distant objects once again, and then another surgery is needed.
Of course, your eyes may change as you age even you have the surgery done when eye condition get stabilized. Thus, lifetime repeat procedures are provided in many hospitals and clinics. What you have to do is just to pay a fairly small extra fee when you firstly have the monocular Lasik eye surgery, and in your lives, whenever you find problems in viewing distant objects clearly, you can have the Lasik procedure repeated at no additional cost. For middle aged people, it is really a good option.
There is a possibility that people feel unaccustomed at the very beginning after the surgery, for the two eyes have to focus differently, however, at most one or two weeks later, nothing will come to be awkward.
