Safety glasses are of critical importance for people who have to work with lasers. As we know, people's eyes are very delicate, while the power of laser is absolutely strong. If we do not have any protection on our eyes, there will be horrible damage to our eyes. Therefore, for people working with laser, it is a must to choose the right pair of safety glasses for them.

Some people may not know the horrible harms laser can bring to our eyes. If we do not wear safety glasses against laser, the laser will burn the retina, which has the function of transmitting image information to the optic nerve and to the brain, and finally leads to blindness. How terrible it is! And till now, there is no treatment for eye damage caused by laser. Therefore, in order to avoid this kind of eye problem, it is wise to prevent laser from damaging our eyes by wearing safety glasses. And as we are not sure where the lasers are, it is better to wear the glasses at everywhere in the workplace.

One point we should bear in mind is not all safety glasses can block laser damage. We must ensure to have the pair specially designed to block the harmful wavelengths of the exact types of the laser we are working with. If we just choose a pair of safety glasses or glasses which can block other type of laser, it will not work at all. Therefore, we should make sure to choose the right pair of safety glasses to satisfy our specific needs.

Besides choosing the right pair of safety glasses for us, we should also pay attention to the following points: First, the field of view and comfort are important for safety glasses. It is better to choose the one with a wide view and comfortable to wear as we need to wear the glasses for long time. Second, make sure the glasses to fit us well. The glass can not be too loose, or else, they will slip around or off, which will affect our vision or give no protection from harmful lasers. Third, we can also choose prescription safety glasses to give us the proper protection we need while helping us to see clearly. Last but not least, when we wear the safety glasses, there will be sweat, which is hard to prevent and will cause people uncomfortable to wear glasses. So it is wise to bring a rag and wipe our face when there is sweat.
