So, we've got father's day approaching fast and if you're one of those people who are massively organised, bought and wrapped his Father's day gift then don't read on. If, on the other hand you have good intentions but have not even thought about the big day and worse still you're watching the pennies, then you're in luck as what follows is the Top 10 list of free (or relatively inexpensive ) father's day gift ideas that won't break the bank.
1. 'Watch The World Cup In Peace' ticket. Football mania is fast approaching and really what any football loving father wants is to watch his team in peace, and not have his children climbing on him, begging to Watch 'their programmes' on the other side or worse still to be ferrying older siblings to and from friends houses. With a home- made 'Watch the world Cup in Peace' ticket you are promising him quality 'him' time alone with beer, pizza and the remote control.
2. Breakfast in bed . It's not just mums who appreciate this. A simple fry up should do the trick!
3. 'Best Dad Jam Jar'. Get a clean jam jar. Get kids to decorate the label. Cut out 100 small strips of paper and write on them why he is the best dad in the world! Fill the jam jar with the reasons. It's free and he'll love it!
4. 'Stepping Stones'. Get some large stepping stones form the garden or DIY store. Paint children's hands and print the hands on the stone. Add child's name and date - leave to dry. Beautiful, meaningful garden ornaments.
5. Family Clip Frame. Really simple this one. Just cut out all the best family pictures and collate into a clip frame for Dad to take to work. He'll love it!
6. Bake a cake. What does he like? Chocolate, sponge or lemon? Let the children decorate with loving words! Eat and enjoy!
7. Make him a calendar. You can buy peel off calendars from craft shops to mount on card. Include a hand drawn picture or children's photograph.
8. Write him a poem...or better still get the children to write him a poem. It's little things like this that make Father's Day so special.
9. Wash his car (and Hoover inside) as a surprise!
10. Do something all as a family. A simple picnic in the park or fishing trip is inexpensive and great fun because sometimes it's the really simple things in life that make memories.
