*Your article should be written well. Not following proper grammar rules and a myriad of spelling mistakes will brand you as someone that does not care about their audience's perception. The article should be thought of as your product. So you, or your ghostwriter, need to ensure that it meets a reasonable quality before submitting an article to a directory.

*Avoid advertising. Articles should be written for the directory with the idea that they are meant to provide information about the subject at hand. Most article directories allow you some self-promotion in the author box towards the end of the text, but rarely ever in the body.
