Top 3 composers who will change your life

Gustav Malher

If you've seen the movie Shutter Island, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, you've heard at least once a Malher's composition.

Like always, Martin Scorsese make perfect use of great music. The piece in Shutter Island is "Quartet for Strings and Piano in A Minor". It's really haunting piece, one that will stick with you for a long time. However, what I love about Malher is that you can hear birds or bells in his compositions.

I really enjoy his vision, his philosophy. He wanted to embrace the world with his music. Listen to him and you will understand. It might change your life because it will make look at the world differently. You will probably want to know more about classical music and maybe painting or literature.

What's good about Malher is that he was also a conductor. It didn't have much time to compose. So it means it really easy to listen to all his compositions.

John Coltrane

John Coltrane was one of the best saxophone players ever. His technique on songs like "Giant Steps" is mesmerising. He played with the greatest including Miles Davis Dizzy Gillespie or Theolonious Monk.

But more than that, he is definitely in the pantheon of pioneering artists. Coltrane was also a great composer. He was a really spiritual person. One of his most moving pieces is "Love supreme". He had a really interesting universal view regarding God. Listening to a Coltrane's album is going on a spiritual journey. Listening to "Om" is also a really powerful experience especially if you interested in Hinduism. The emotions a listener of Coltrane music feel is difficult to describe. That's maybe because Coltrane is such a great artist.

Miles Davis

Miles Davis was a trumpeter and composer. What's great about him is that he wasn't afraid to make new experiences with different music styles.

For example, for his album You're Under Arrest, he interpreted a song by the most popular pop artist ever, Michael Jackson. The song is called "Human Nature". If you're not familiar with Miles Davis, you may want listen to that song first. After you will be able discover legendary albums like "Kind OF Blue". As a matter of fact, John Coltrane was the sax player for that album. Remember the connections I was talking about?

In a nutshell, just listen to those artists and, hopefully, it will lead to discover other fabulous artists and also undiscovered part of yourself.
