Would you like to narrow down the amount of horse racing handicapping information

to just a few factors that will help you to pick more winners? The goal of many people is to use just one factor or aspect of handicapping to make a profit betting horses. Good luck with that one. In about half a century I have never managed to find it for myself, but if you can, my hat is off to you.

On the other hand, as strange as this may sound, it may be just one factor that is keeping you from making as much money as you could be making betting on horses and handicapping races. Picking winners is an act that actually is more complicated than just deciding who will win the race. Real horse players not only want a winner, but they want the winner at the right price.

Therefore, if you are getting many winners using a speed handicapping method, but still losing money, that speed factor may well be the most important, but only because it is keeping you from seeing the truth. Speed horses are over bet. That is just one example of how one factor can be the most important. Once you analyze your handicapping methods and compare the methods to the results, you may find that one factor that you are using is weighted too heavily.

If that is the case, however, you are not alone. If the speed horses are over bet, then that is a weakness of the crowd that can be exploited to your advantage. Figure out which factors are over played and that should tell you which ones aren't. Are you starting to see how you can use this method of finding the most over played factor(s) and therefore, also seeing which ones are being overlooked?

Start by keeping a copy of results for a few weeks and as you handicap, write the factors beside each winner, such as how it rated in the speed category, how it rated in the pace category, class category, etc. You should start to see a pattern set by the crowd of how the crowd picks horses. Once you figure them out, you can adjust your method to beat them. Figure out factors are the top factors that the crowd uses and then, use the other factors that they under value to pick winners.
