Top Scientists Embraced Islam (4) Dr Alison and the Medical Inimitability in Quran-A
Part one
This is the fourth Scientist in the series of Top Christian Scientists who embraced Islam.
More than 1400 years ago, the Quran revealed some 1000 scientific facts which were discovered only in the last 100 years.
These scientific facts which are mentioned in the Quran led many of the Top Scientists to embrace Islam and to convert willingly from Christianity to Islam.
Although People should be free to believe in whatever religion they wish: however, the reasonable questions are
Why Christian priests and scientists do convert to Islam?
Is there a good reason for priests and scientists to convert from Christianity to Islam?
What would be that reason?
In this article, Dr Alison may give us some clues.
Who is Dr Alison?
His name before Islam is Professor Dr. Arthur Alison,
His name after Islam is Professor Dr. Abdullah Alison
He is the head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the University of London.
He had been the president of the British Society for Psychological and Spiritual Studies for several years.
In the course of his study of religions, Dr Alison got acquainted with Islam.
He has published two articles about the Scientific facts in the Quran
What led Professor Arthur Alison to embrace Islam?
When he compared Islam with other religions and belief doctrines that he had studied, he found it suited his inborn nature and satisfied his requirements.
He was invited to the First Islamic International Conference on the Medical Inimitability in the Quran held in Cairo in 1985 under the sponsorship of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate.
In the conference he presented two papers:
The first paper was: "the psychological and spiritual methods of therapy in the light of the Holy Quran",
The second paper was: "sleep and death in the light of the Quranic verse 39:42" which he presented in association with Dr Muhammad Yehya.
Furthermore, the many scientific Quranic facts presented in the conference were an eye opener to him.
Dr Alison uttered the "Shahadah"
At the concluding session of the Conference, Professor Alison declared that Islam is the religion of truth and inborn nature with which Allah has created man.
Then he uttered the testimony (Shahadah), saying that he bears witness that:
"There is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."
In an interview given to an Arabic-weekly magazine (Al-Muslimoon), he narrated the story of his conversion to Islam saying:
