For something a little smaller and more 'boutiquey', meanwhile, Jump Inn Hostel is a good bet. This well formed and centrally located hostel is perfect for travelers looking for some peace and quiet; it's also great for couples on a romantic getaway.
Another exceptional hostel in Warsaw is the New World Hostel. A relative newcomer on the block, it's cheap, well located, and exceptionally well rated. Not a bad option, then.
Sightseeing
Travelers tend to spend most of their time in the srdmie>cie area, which is Warsaw's central district. Not only is this a beautiful area that screams to be explored lazily on foot as you stop in as many cafes and eateries as possible, it also heralds many of Warsaw's best cultural institutions.
For example, the Palace of Culture and Science is to be found here. A huge complex, it includes a university, a museum, a restaurant, and a movie theatre. There's also an excellent observation desk at the top of its central tower.
Other highlights in the area include the Polish Parliament, the Royal Castle, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. A Warsaw Tourist Card will help you get into some of these attractions - and many more too - thus helping you save money while in the city.
Dining Out
While Warsaw isn't exactly world-renowned for its cuisine, eating well while eating cheaply is certainly a possibility here.
For a start, the Warsaw Tourist Card gets you discounted food as well as access to attractions. Check out the list of places that recognize it and then try to stick to them - you could make a good saving in the long run.
Many backpackers chose to simply stick to the cheap kebab joints that are dotted around town in order to eat cheaply while here. Milk bars, which serve milk-based dishes, are also an excellent way to get your fill without breaking the bank.
