When you are running your breast movement can cause discomfort for you. This is crucial for a woman's health especially so that a sports bra for running not only gives protection to the chest area, it also protects the back and prevents sagging by controlling bounce very well. Shop for a running sports bra to give you great comfort and confidence.
1. Try on several sports bras to make sure you find the one most suited to your body before making your decision. Try on a variety of bras so you can get an idea of what a comfortable one feels like.
2. Getting an encapsulation bra which supports the breasts better than other styles of sport bra if you have large or extra-large breasts. These bras limit the motion of the breasts by closely surrounding and separating each breast. Choose a compression sport bra which presses the breasts against the chest wall to support them, if you have small to medium breast. This type of bra holds the breasts close to the chest wall, restricting their movement during running.
3. Choose a sport bra with a breathable material. This will help to keep you dry and cool during your workout.
4. Prevent chafing by shopping for sports bras with wide armholes, soft tags, covered elastic banding and flat, covered seams.
5. Check for a "Motion Control Rating" when shopping. You will want an athletic bra with High Motion Control Requirements (HIGH MCR). These requirements will provide you with the maximum movement and maximum support at the same time.
6. Test the sports bra's flexibility by doing range-of-motion exercises. Bend forward from the waist, to each side and to the back to ensure that the bra does not ride up or "curl".
