Tour To Key West

We used to go to faraway places during our holidays

. My wife always preferred to be away from the friends and relatives for some time. She believes that it will make the bonds stronger. This year it was Key West that we chose to be our holiday destination. We always prefer the flights that charge low fares for tickets. By taking such flights we can save a lot of money towards traveling expenses and this money we used to enjoy the life at the destination. Key West, being one of the most visited destinations is well connected by air. Almost all airlines including the Hawaiian Airlines and Air Jamaica are operating flights to Key West. Besides, there are many cheap domestic flights too. We have taken cheap tickets to Key West and went there as per our planned schedule.

Key West situates by the side of Strait of Florida and a place really blessed by the nature. This city has inspired many authors including Earnest Hemingway. It is believed that he has written his famous novel Farewell to Arms in this city.

We first went to the corner of the South street and Whitehead Street where there is a monument marking the southernmost point of the American Continent. This considered as the most important place in the city and many visitors are coming here daily. Beaches are the other attraction here and there are many private beaches also. Cycling through the old city, enjoying the architectural wonders was another unforgettable experience we got in this tour. We were not alone. We have seen many people including foreigners cycling there. Our next destination was the Audubon House and Tropical Garden. This is basically a museum exhibiting the art works of John James Audubon. History of the Key West is also exhibited here. Key West Light house and the classic theaters situated in this city are also attracting many visitors.

Key West has many festivals and cultural events to attract tourists, most of the festivals will have a parade with colorfully dressed people dancing to the tune of drums. Moving tableaus also will be there in the procession. With the entire street illuminated and well decorated, the festive mood will be in peak at the time of procession. It will end with dinner and all restaurants and bars will offer special dishes and cocktails on those festival days. Sloppy Joes Bar and the Silver Slipper Dancing Hall are two important venues which most of the people prefer on festival days. With the introduction of cheap flights to Key West, the number of visitors coming here to participate in festivals has increased in the recent past.

Anyway, our tour was successful. My wife has done a good shopping also as usual. This time she concentrated on handicrafts and some souvenirs which she presented to her friends as gift.
