Amarnath Ji Holy Cave is situated at a height of 3952 Mtrs

. The holy Cave contains a Shiva Lingam formed of Ice and two smaller ice stalagmites symbolize as his spouse Parvati and son Ganesha. According to Hindu mythology the size increases or decreases according to Moon position.

Every year holy cave opens for two months only and yatra begins either from last week of June or first week of July and ends in last week of August but this year Yatra will continue for one month only as it will starts from first week of July and ends in last week of July itself.

Every year millions of devotees gather during 3rd week of August to celebrate the big Festival Amarnath Ji and visit Holy Cave. The Yatra of Amarnth Ji cave is held in same veneration as the holy Mount Kailash in Tibet. People gather from entire India and every corner of the World to visit Amarnath Ji Cave.

Some people visit the holy cave by Helicopter from Baltal or Pahalgam and many people choose to visit by trek. Yatra can be covered from minimum two nights & three days to maximum one week by Helicopter or by trek.

Amarnath Ji Yatra by Helicopter

Amarnath Ji Yatra can be covered by Helicopter (Choppers) from Baltal or Pahalgam to Panchtarni. After that one has to go by trek or Palki/Pony to Holy cave which is situated approx 4-5 km where Helicopter lands according to Government permission. Helicopter services are available every day from sunrise to sunset (except bad weather). Devotees can take chopper for same day visit to holy cave or one can stay overnight in Panchtarni after visiting cave.

Amarnath Ji Yatra by Trek

Amarnath Ji Yatra cave can be covered by trek either from Pahalgam or Baltal. From Baltal it takes just one of two days time to visit the cave and from Pahalgam it takes three-four days time to visit the cave. Both these places are well connected by road from Srinagar & Jammu respectively. All major flight operates till Srinagar airport which is nearby airport and nearby railway station is situated in Jammu which is 300 Km away from Srinagar. Road condition is also good from Delhi to Srinagar as mostly devotees visit Amarnath Ji by Bus from Delhi in Groups.
