Motivation is the heart beat of your training process. The best equipped distributor in the world will be unproductive and worthless if they lack motivation. They need to be continuously reminded of why they entered into this business in the first place. It is imperative that they stay connected to the dream and not lose sight of their own finish line. The second key element is the encouragement to press on even when things are moving slowly or even becoming increasingly difficult. One of the greatest tools at your disposal is your own story. Talk about the circumstances you faced in your business that were disheartening and how you found the inner strength to keep pressing on. Brainstorm ways that your distributors can go over, go around or go through the challenges that are in their path.
Marketing is the next concept that needs to be taught and reinforced on a regular basis. Teach your distributors how to market themselves as business owners, leaders and solutions providers. Teach them how to identify the markets that are most open to the product, service or business opportunity that they are representing. Help them brainstorm ideas that could be used to penetrate that target audience. Work with your downline to develop a marketing plan. This plan should clearly define the course of action and the time frame in which those actions will be completed. You should ask your distributor to make a commitment to their marketing plan and then follow up with regular accountability. Implement a tracking system to monitor the effectiveness of your distributor's marketing efforts. Your downline distributors will be glad that you pushed them as they begin to enjoy the success of their multi level marketing business.
The next component of your MLM distributor training should be in the areas of product and business opportunity. Help your people to become experts in the products and business opportunity they represent. Have your distributors talk to each other about their experiences with the products. You may even want to assign a particular product to a distributor to use and discuss with your team during your next team meeting. Sales skills are a vital part of your ongoing training. Teach your people how to deal with questions and objections that they are encountering in the field. You may want to role play with your team, dissecting each part of the presentation and closing process. By helping your people increase their skills in this one area, you can help them dramatically increase their income by simply increasing their rate of conversions.
Whether you are training through live events or utilizing technological tools such as webinars and video, it is important that you focus on these fundamental aspects of business building.
