Translation Matters For/in India

Translation, especially in India, is like the air we breathe

. Like air, translation is elemental; it is as old as human civilization itself.

Like air, it is pervasive; that is why everyone has an opinion on translation as they would on love or God, since it is their living experience.

Like air, it is life-giving, as it makes the co-existence of difference possible.

Again, like air, it is invisible. So we dont quite see how fundamental it is to our lives, especially, in a large translation area such as India where translation is a daily business inside the home and outside.

The power of translation is so immense that even the gods feared it, according to the myth of the Babel, in the Bible (Genesis 11:1-9), which has long fascinated translators.

It contains the Old Testament story of the fall into linguistic diversity and chaos, which is often read as a myth about the origin of translation.

As India is the developing Nation it is being grooming talent regarding the Translation work.

The cost for these translation work is very high in India.

The immediate and perfect solution to solve the situation of higher rates is a very impossible in the given present situation.

However, if the government takes efficient and perfect steps in controlling the importance of translation services, the rates can be brought down to some extent.

Often, the increase in costs is also attributed to lack of established protocol standards between India and corresponding countries.
