Scabies is caused by the tiny mites who could hardly be seen with a naked eye. The female mites would burrow themselves deep within the surface of skin and lay eggs. The mites can stay up to 72 hours without a human host. Therefore it is essential to treat your furniture so as to prevent the re-infestation of scabies. First of all, you need to diagnose the symptoms of scabies. For an instance, it is likely to confuse the signs of scabies with other skin conditions.

All members of the family must be treated with scabies medication, if there is an infested individual in the residence. You must vacuum the floor regularly, including the rugs, the carpets as well as the upholstery of all furniture. Once you finish cleaning the furniture, the vacuum cleaner bag must be disposed. In case if you have fabrics in your furniture, it must be washed with warm water and disinfectant. Such a cleaning routine must be repeated until the infestation is completely removed from the household. Even after the sufferer is completely cured, it would be best to follow this cleaning routine every once in a while. Better hygiene would also minimise the chances of a re-infestation.
