Trends In Men's Autumn And Winter Fashions

Another fall and winter fashion season is upon us and if there was a theme for this

year's men's fashion, the lexicon would be "What's old is new again". This is because the styles that designers unveiled were a remix of classic styles and lines. Here is some of what the fashionable man will be wearing this autumn and into the winter.

First, expect to see leather and lots of it. Leather never really went anywhere, but it's in full force this fashion season. How designers have decided to incorporate leather into their designs is by playing with other masculine leather standards, such as motorcycle jackets and aviator jackets. These are old standbys and have been so popular, women want to wear them.

However, even though cool women want these, they are standards that represent masculinity. Designers have decided to add fashion forward and playful touches to these old standards. They have added smaller waistlines, oversized collars, and plush fur trim. The effect is a familiar yet updated look.

Another retro flourish that is going over strong this year is plaid. Plaid was very popular in the 1990s and it seems that for the past 30 years, styles from 20 years before the current time are making a comeback. In the early 2000s, the 1980s made a comeback. The 80s are still alive and well, but as we move into the second decade of the millennium, those who are fashion forward have started testing the waters with late 80s, early 90s styles. Plaid will definitely be part of that. Expect to see men's shirts full of plaid. There are already understated men's suits that feature plaid.

But like any retro trend, the new version will be updated a bit. Speaking of retro style, designers will continue to give a nod to the past when it comes to styles of men's suits and men's shirts.

There were a lot of tightly tailored men's suits that were nods to the 1960s mod style. These styles of suits have been around for a while, but expect to see them in full force.

There will also be a lot more tux jackets for men's suits and playful variations in the suit.

The colours that men should expect to see in their coats, men's suits, and men's shirts include a ton of black, greys, and khakis. Men should also be ready to wear fur trims and 3 piece suits that hug the body.

This year's autumn and winter fashion season for men is all about sleekness and taking a new approach on the classics of twenty years ago.
