Troubleshooting Your Club Car Golf Cart Gas Engines: Breif Report
Club Car is one of the top manufactures of Golf Carts
. They are commonly found inside the Golf course as well as in recreation centers, resorts, shopping malls, farms etc. They are very easy and convenient to operate. These carts are of two types depending upon the mode of working. They are the battery powered ones and the gasoline models. Gas powered carts are much more powerful than their counterpart and is much suited on rough terrain. They can carry more load than the electric variant. Due to their daily heavy duty work, certain troubles are prone to occur. Here are some steps to troubleshoot your Golf Cart.
1. The foremost step is to check whether the Cart has got adequate fuel. Check the fuel tank using a flashlight. If you find the level of fuel too low, then refuel it with fresh fuel. Never use old fuel as it can lead to poor performance.
2. Next check the oil level of the engine. You can find the oil level checking dipstick by the side of the engine. Make sure the oil level is between the normal limits. If it is too low, fill it with manufacturer recommended oil.
3. Another important area where you need to inspect is the battery. Battery is necessary to turn ON the engine. Check whether the connections of the battery terminal are properly secure. Use a wrench to tighten any loose connections. Next check the water level in the battery cells. If you fine it to be too low, then fill it with distilled water.
4. Check the overall wiring of the Cart. Any fault or break in these wires can lead to malfunction. Check the continuity of wire between two terminals using a multimeter. If there are any cuts or breaks in the wire, replace them with new wires of the prescribed rating.
5. Check the carburetor of the engine for any faults. First take out the air filter by removing its screws. Clean the whole section using spray cleaners. Also clean the throttle controllers situated below the carburetor. Once these are done, securely replace the air filter in its place.
