Truth Charms and Truth Jewellery Tells a Story

Truth and lies used to be seen as the same as black and white with no ion between. More and more though there are grey areas, half truths and little white lies, grey areas because grey is a mixture of black and white, the darker the grey, the less white in the mix.

Different cultures regard the truth and lies as not so inexplicably linked. Something that is not the truth is not necessarily regarded as a lie. A lady likes compliments she wants to know that she is looking good, to have her own opinion reinforced. The truth charms her, a white lie will as well if it said convincingly.

The new outfit and shoes for the special occasion, a friend's wedding for example. All the accessories of hat, handbag, truth jewellery and hairstyle, the lady needs to reassuring word for the confidence to face the day. After all, everyone else will be dressed up in their best as well.

There are more important issues than that of appearance when it comes to truth and lies. In a commercial sense, the statement that something is done must be accurate, not just a delaying tactic to provide time for the person to actually do what was promised. In some cultures that statement that was not the truth is not regarded as a lie. The intention to take the action is still agreed so the statement's accuracy is not regarded as important.

If it is merely something that's completion has not got a critical time line that may be acceptable but most people would much prefer to be told the truth charms are one thing, disappointments are part of life and can be handled, it's as simple as that. Perhaps not the lady in her finery and truth jewellery though, she just needs a little boost.

If the inaccurate statement relates to something that has a time scale, a project that revolves around different stages of work, a flow chart project, it is far more critical that statements are accurate if it means the project moves to the next stage as a result of the statement.

There are grey areas in most situations, where judgement and perception are involved. Perception is the key because if someone believes a swan is red, even though everyone else knows it isn't that person's perception will mean he will act accordingly. Debate rages every day in every walk of life about judgement; opinion on a referee's decision to give or not to give a penalty varies and although ultimately it's only a debate because the decision stands anyway, our frustrations at perceived injustice remain.

Our observations colour our opinions the extremes of the spectrum being black and white, with the grey areas in between. It makes for lively debate in councils and parliaments, in committee rooms of sports clubs and on boards of large companies, in every human forum that exists.
