The message was plain and simple; be authentic or true to yourself. This is delivered at a time when I've been avoiding working on the next part of my series on "The Origins of Healing". So what is it that I'm resisting here? Is it that I'm approaching this whole thing from my head and not my heart? Am I not being true to my nature by attempting to build a structured series which would perhaps look more credible to others? What is it that is my passion and what is stopping me from being that?Some months back I received a vision as to the direction of my work. It expressed itself in an Intent statement which I unfortunately let fall into the background as I allowed myself to get caught up in the issues of everyday life. This vision is a simple one and it expresses an openness which I haven't always been able to find and hold, and yet in looking at it now I see where the openness is along with the challenge of bringing the essence of linear modalities into a non-linear reality. At first glance, the intent is short and simple: "to create a center where the highest wisdom from various spiritual and healing traditions can come together; to blend in a matrix of Love, Intention and Surrender. To encourage and facilitate the unfolding of a healing tradition, which supports people to open to the infinite presence of unconditional love of which we are." The implications of the words carry a deep and otherworldliness when viewed through the understanding of what the reality of unconditional love is. It is the non-linear state that equates with "Salvation" in Christianity and "Lotus Land" in Buddhism, and the subjective experience of Nonduality. It is the energy field which makes twelve step groups successful, where all which came before had failed. So how do I, or anyone for that matter, take healing modalities and traditions which exist in a linear reality and transform them into the non-linear? Is that even possible? One practitioner thought that all it takes is prayerful intent and when I test on that, I get that it is not really making it over the hump of the restraints of the linear. Yes, the intent of her prayer takes her work up a significant amount on the scale of consciousness and the higher level of power which it represents, but testing indicates that it is not enough to take her work to the level of non-duality. Something is missing from the equation.The answer appears to be in the adage to "Live Your Life Like A Prayer". In this context we are talking about healing work. It means that every gesture, every action is on the level of a prayer. It means letting go of the linear restrictions of whatever modality one is working with, or even for that matter the idea of a modality. It means stepping out of the mind, which is linear and stepping into the field of nonlinear reality. In essence, it is not the modality which can become nondual but rather the practitioner and his or her application of a particular treatment. The only exception to this is when prayer itself becomes the modality.
