Building shelves can be a daunting task for someone who is not mechanically inclined. The idea that the shelves will fall down is a scary but realistic one for someone with no experience. A fast and relatively inexpensive way to have them built or installed is for a professional handyman contractor.

Choose one that is licensed, bonded and insured, proficient with tools and knows what they are doing. They will be able to design or provide the right type of shelves, recommend materials and choose proper wall placement. Think about what items need to be stored and how frequently they will need to be taken from the shelves.

Cabinets

If shelf space is not enough, try cabinets. They eliminate mess and can be easily assembled or custom-built. Choose from a catalog, online or in-store purchase. To increase kitchen cabinet space, for example, have a contractor with carpentry skills create additional storage built around existing units. they can be fabricated to match material, color and style.
