Turning 13! Google Is Now Officially Teenager!
All of us have enjoyed our teenage but who else have enjoyed richness
, kingdom and dominance in his/her area of life??? Probably none of us or some of us but when it comes to enjoying all the success, glory and saga in the teenage, Google is the name we can bank on! Yes, the Search Engine Giant Google has turned 13 today that mean it is now officially teenager! And this is what they have admitted via Googles doodle for today!
Founded in Sep 1998 by Stanford research students Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google Inc. was a little room company initially established as an internet search engine company and just within time span of 13 years, it has turned to be the worlds most popular and one of the largest companies. Even the Google founders were not expected this sort of sky rocket growth.
At the time of turning into teenage, lets take a look back at the Search Engine Optimisation giants journey so far:
The startup (1998)
* Big Changes start with little efforts! This is a universal truth, and if not, at least a fact for google! Google was founded in a small garage in Menlo Park, silicon valley, C.A. in early sep 1998, and soon after it larry page and sergey brin filed documents for registering Google Inc in California.
The Move ahead (2000-2005)
* After successful launch, google went crazy or made people crazy after it. Google had now turned to be a famous and favorite search tool for internet users.
* The growing popularity of Google gave a way to its launch in 10 non-english languages including French, Spanish and German.
* Apart from this, google also claimed milestone of indexing 1 billion pages in the year of 2000. Just within a year, in 2001 Google was made available in total 26 languages.
* Another achievement was Google Image Search feature to search engine. As soon as it turned 5, it launched its till date famous web promotion program, AdWords (now cost-per-click).
* In the mid 2002, google gave the world a way to stay updated with the latest happening around the world by launching Google News.
* In the same year google also opened its office in Australia.
* A year later, in 2003 Google launched its most popular advertisement revenue program for website owners, Google AdSense.
* Google also gave a way to much hyped term Social Networking by unveiling its most successful social networking site Orkut in 2004.
* In April 2004, Google made it possible for millions of people around the world to communicate with ease of technology by unveiling its own email service Gmail.
* In the same year google went to Wall Street by filling an Initial Public Offering of its equity shares in the New York Stock Exchange.
* In 2005, Google gave stiff competition to then famous chatting tool, Yahoo! Messenger by launching Google Talk or Gtalk.
* Apart from this, it continue its tradition of innovation by unveiling a number of big gadgets like Google Earth, iGoogle etc.
* In the same year, around November December, Google pave a way for Mobile Technology by introducing Gmail for Mobile!
The Maturity and the technology (2006-2010)
* Now that Google had become mature (though not adult!!!), it started to roll out enterprise or corporate oriented applications. Lets talk step by step:
* Google launched Google Calendar and Google Finance in mid 2006.
* In May-June 2006, Google incorporated massive change in business world by availing google checkout, the googles ultimate tool for eCommerce or shopping online!
* On 28th August 2006, Google went really really professional and corporate by launching Google Apps for Business and Corporates. It changed the way businesses use technology.
* In the end time of 2006, Google had acquired YouTube, which is now worlds most watching video channel.
* In 2007, Google introduced Google Street View for Maps, Google Gears.
* In 2008, Google launched Google Sites, Website Optimizer aimed at making website design a bit better with seo oriented view!
* Now Google has turned 10! And they have something special to offer! Google Suggestions for users of search engine.
* In the same year, Google launched its own web browser Google Chrome.
* In November same year, Google added Google Dashboard to make you access your all Google data at one place, one time.
The 13th Year! (2011)
* This is the year when Google acquired Motorola Mobile to make its presence stronger in Mobile Technology.
* The biggest milestone of the year 2011 is 2011 itself! Yes, in 2011 (today!) Google has cut a long and successful journey of internet world! And now has become an official teenager! Watch more for story on the milestones this year!
