It will be wise to splurge on a good set of crystal water glasses and save on water and fruit glasses.

You also don't have to pay a lot of money to have wine, cocktail, martini and champagne glasses because there are a lot of discounts offered for these types of glasses. Large size water glasses can also double as beer glasses, unless you want to buy beer steins or large glasses with handles that make them look more like mugs. Just like water glasses, there are also different kinds of glasses available for drinking wine but you don't need to get all the types. Wine glasses are generally made of fine glass because thicker glass and is said to affect the taste of the wine. Red wine glasses are tall and wide so that you can get a greater sense of the full-bodied taste of the wine.

The most recommended wine glasses are the Bordeaux glass, which is tall and narrow and the Pinot Noir glass which has a rounder bowl. Wine glasses for white wine are generally smaller, with an opening that is slightly larger than the body of the glass. Champagne glasses are tall and thin so that the bubbles will build up the way they should when you pour it into the glass.


When it comes to liqueurs, these types also depend on the drink. Most are small glasses and have small stems and hold between 1 and 4 ounces of liquid. You can also have this type of drinking glass without a stem. The most unique of liqueur glasses are the ones called Grappa glass. These glasses are designed for drinking the Italian alcoholic drink called the Grappa, but it is suitable for any drink, even water. The glass has a stem on which there is a balloon shape that then opens into a regular glass that measures about 7 inches tall in total. These are some of the common types of glasses that you need to have in your cupboard apart from margarita and martini glasses.
