Inertia Sensors
These detectors are often mounted on barriers and are used to detect an attack on the structure itself. This technology uses electrical current that is distrupted when a vibration occurs and sets off and alarm.
Passive Magnetic Field Detection
This systems is based on the Magnetic Anomaly Detection principle of operation and uses and electromagnetic field generated by two wires running in parallel. These wires are connected to a signal processor which monitors the magnetic field. These types of security systems can be mounted on top of a wall or buried in the ground.
E-Field
This is a proximity systems that is typically installed on buidling perimeters such as fences and walls. These systems use electromagnetic fields generated by two wires that can detect the mass of an intruder, movement of intruder, and time the intruder is in the pattern.
Microwave barriers
These systems creates a sensitive wall of protection by sending microwaves from a transmitter to a reciever. These systems are typically easy to install and have a low cost but are sensitive to rain, snow, and fog.
Microphonic Security Systems
Microphonic security systems vary in design but are generally based on the detection of an intruder trying to cut or climb over a chainwire fence. Usually the microphonic security systems are installed as sensor cables secured to rigid chainwire fences, however some specialised versions of these systems can also be installed as buried alarm systems underground. Dictated on the version selected, it can be sensitive to different levels of noise and or vibration. The security system is based on coaxial or electro-magnetic sensor cable with the controller having the ability to distinguish between signals from the cable or chainwire being cut, an intruder climbing the fence, or bad weather conditions.
H-Field
H-Field systems uses the electromagnetic field disturbance pinciple. A transmitter emits Radio Frequency energy along a cable and the energy is received by another cable. The change in field strength weakens when in the presence of an object and reaches a pre-determined lower threshold, in which an alarm condition is generated.
Fibre Optic
CableFibreoptic systems use a fibre optic cable. This cable can detect an intruder by measuring the difference in the amount of light sent through the fibre core. This system in simple to install and configure but can produce a number of false alarms.
