Understanding The Different Types Of Bail Bonds Options

Life is very unpredictable thus there might be certain circumstances that can lead to the arrest of an individual

. The authorities might have caught the individual doing something against the law or the individual might be suspected of committing a crime. These are only some of the circumstances that can land an individual in prison. When such events happen, the person arrested must have an idea of his rights and what they can do to be released from jail.

When a person is arrested, he or she will be arraigned within 24-48 hours. During this time, a judge will decide whether or not the arrested individual will be given bail and how much the bail amount will be. Bail is the process wherein the suspect pays a set amount of money to be released from prison while awaiting their trial. The condition of the release is the assurance that the suspect will appear in court for all their scheduled court dates and criminal proceedings. If the suspect is unable to show up in court, he or she will be arrested and the bail posted with be forfeited.

The amount of bail depends on several factors. The bail amount may be several hundred dollars for minor crimes or it can go up to thousands of dollars for more serious crimes or felonies. The suspect has many options for posting bail. For instance, he or she can pay through cash. This is the first option for bail bonds. However, if the bail amount is too much and the suspect cannot afford to pay in cash, they can choose the secure bond option. This option means that the suspect will put up collateral in exchange for the release. The suspect will sign a contract agreeing to show up on court, and to sign over a property title equal to the bail amount. Another popular bail bonds option is using a bail bonds service. If the suspect cannot afford to pay the bail amount, he or she can look for a bail bonds agency that can pay the bail amount on their behalf. The bail bonds company may ask for a premium which is 10% of the bail bonds amount and they will pay for the rest.

The bail bonds agency can help the suspect get out of prison despite their lack of funds to pay the full amount of the bail. However, if the bail amount is refunded, the bail bonds agency will get the full bail amount including the 10% premium that was paid by the suspect.
