Urban Mela For Indo-german Diplomatic Relations

The "Urban Mela" will be set up for ten days each starting in Mumbai and will move on to Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Pune subsequently. Mumbai celebrating the Indo-German Urban Mela from April 13-2012- to April 22-2012, then later it will be start in Bangalore from June 26th to July 1st , in Chennai from Aug 24 to Sept 2, in New Delhi from Oct 26 to Nov 4 and last it will be start in Pune from Jan 11-2013 to Jan 20-2013.
A comprehensive programme, including cultural performances and conferences, will be held at the venue. There will be a food and beverage area allowing the visitors to get a taste of special delicacies from the German kitchen.
Move over Kala Ghoda, there's a new mela in town. A ten day Indo-German cultural festival is about to take place at the Cross Maidan ground at Church gate. This big event is to commemorate 60 years of Indo-German diplomatic relations.
If you associate Germany with cars and beer, wait till you see the event unfurl; there will be a celebration of all things art - music, dance, film, food, literature and events will be free to attend for all.
The event kick starts with an open-air concert by Schal Sick Brass Band on Friday, April 13 after the opening ceremony that same evening at 6:30pm. The band performs at 7:30 pm. Both programs are at the Cross Maidan ground.
On Saturday, April 14, you can visit a photo exhibition or attend a workshop on cartoon figures in the afternoon. Do not miss, Parada Narrnia- its a fairy tale parade where artists on stilts perform an amazing feat. The show is on at Greenfield. Two shows: 6:30pm and 7:30pm. Each show is 30 minutes only. Sunday April 15, attend the German Movie Mela at the Goethe Studio - starts at 7:00pm till 9:00pm. You can get a tattoo, be at an art show, even go to a class where introductory German language is explained. Just for a day, what fun, if you can pick up German bhasha, no? This is at the Goethe Studio between 2:30pm-3:30pm.
