Use A To-Do List for Ultimate Fitness Marketing Productivity

Fitness marketing encompasses so many things. It's easy to feel wrapped up in all of it and lose perspective of your initial goals and motivations for starting a fitness business. The best fitness marketing tip I can offer is to use a "to-do" list. I can't imagine what I'd do without one.You should put focus on your activities that will complete your schedule with the absolute important 5% "high-level" tasks that will take your business from where it is not to the place where you business dreams are coming true. I make use of a side to-do list of tasks as well. This is the list my assistant has on a daily basis. Below is a sample that describes what a typical days to-do list contains for me... -- 10 A.M. - Train on intervals and weight lifting 11:30 A.M. - Assign the following tasks to my assistant: ? Find writers to do 50 more articles that will be posted in article directories for back-links. ? Manage all of the necessary follow ups with the people that are supposed to be linking ads to their sites. ? Format an outline and write out notes about the ________ business CD that I was going to listen to but haven't had the time to so I can get a good understanding of it. ? Shop for some more protein powder and go by Block Buster and return my movies while they are out. Handle the phone calls: make an appointment for an oil change service to be done at the dealership, book the hotel reservations for the trip that I have coming up and also buy the airline tickets for that trip. (She does a little of everything and also deals with and manages my trainers, takes care of feeding my cat, gets my Craigslist ads posted for me, generates sales reports for the sales made the day before, blends my juice with about 10 different kinds of fresh vegetables, handles everything that has to do with the customer service in the training business, runs a lead outcome report for me to review that contains the personal training leads that were developed during the day prior, ... and a great amount of more tasks that I just do not want to do for myself... but still has to be done) 12pm - Develop the product launch: ? Call all of the affiliates ? Make any necessary adjustments to the sales page 1:30pm - Make a bunch of phone calls including calling people who I've delegated certain responsibilities to, like the video editor, etc. 2pm - Arrange the broadcast of the blog posts that were newly written to go to the list. 4pm - Pay-Per-Click Ads adjusting 4:30pm - Continue reading up on or watching ___________ (Business DVD or book or Marketing) - Because I schedule my activities into blocks of time I can handle the larger things that will make my business more successful and I can delegate the secondary (also extremely important) things to my assistant and any of the other people that I trust that are more experienced with the tasks (like the web guy and video editor). Any fitness trainer who desires to move forward in his or her business should absolutely use a to-do list in for each and every day so that their day can go something like this... - 6am - 9am Train the first set of clients 9am - Workout 10:30am - Take a look at the leads that came to the website throughout the night. 11:00am - Personally call five existing clients and tell them how great they are doing and how proud I am. 11:30am - Advertise on Craigslist for someone to create ads on Craigslist and someone to do the SEO writing for my business in exchange for my training skills. 11:45am - Begin a sales letter that will work well with the newest marketing campaign. 1:00pm - Go to public / social places and try to sell Human Billboard deal to at least 10 people. 2:00pm - Do some research into Pay Per Click advertising 2:30pm - Take a long relaxing nap. 4pm - 8pm Train some more clients. - When I think back to the days that I spent training people, I remember using a to-do list that pretty much went like the one that is listed above. While there were trainers wasting valuable time that could be found in between their training sessions, I was working the advancement of my business in every direction. If you could tell me about your comments and thoughts regarding this post in the space below I would love to read them... especially about your experience with using a "to-do" list to move your business to the next level.
