As they are hard wearing, durable, quick to clean up and very light their popularity remains high. It is also easy to change them if you remodel your room. Usually all you need to do to fix them is screw each end to the wall using the fitting provided. For some folks the plastic appearence is not appreciated and means they tend to avoid them.
Composite blinds are good for this group as they are a combination of polymers and wood based products. The wood look is quite good and the surface is smooth and sleek. They are available in a range of colours and wood effects and are more expensive than PVC but not too much.
Having blinds made from real wood is the aim of many people. They range in price from the quite affordable to the luxurious. As with most manufactured goods they are often imported from the Far East whilst the premium wooden blind will use locally grown wood and be manufactured locally.
Whilst costing the most the wooden blinds are easier to decorate to fit in with your overall look. You won't need to replace them very often nor are they heavy to use. Over time sunlight may fade their colour and slightly warp them but for many people this is an added mark of homeliness.
