, you may be doing damage to your productivity. Follow these tips to help tidy up your work space. Start by clearing off your desk at the end of every working day.

Start with filing all of the paper on your desk. You should be putting it into labeled folders. If you put paperwork away out of sight it won't get lost, plus your desk will be much neater. If you need to refer to some information frequently, try making a small cheat sheet of info to keep under your mouse. This also cuts down on the paper on the desk surface.

Consider using a wireless printer. This prevents you from having to have the printer on or near your desk, and eliminates bulky cable clutter. Your printer can be elsewhere, freeing up your desktop.

You can also use a wireless keyboard and mouse. If you have these, you can move both mouse and keyboard without worrying about cables.

You also don't have to worry about cables with this technology.

A good old fashioned pencil cup works wonders for getting accessories under control. Keep your pencils and pens you use regularly in the cup. The rest should be put away in a drawer. Digital media (DVDs, CDs) should be put up in a storage container such as a notebook media organizer.

Photos can be desk clutter too if they are handled incorrectly. Be sure to limit the number you display. Put out only one, or else group all photos together in a photo cube or collage frame.

Alternately, use a digital photo frame that can display one of any number of pictures. The resolution on the digital frame is so good that it is similar to what you would see on high definition television.
