Even though there are numerous things that should be considered when it comes to checking on the maintenance staff, you really need to think about the quality of their work as well as their ability to perform it with the tools and supplies that are provided.

For example, when you have apartments that are vacated, you must make sure that they are prepared quickly so that new tenants can move in. Much of the work for that process is going to be hired out to subcontractors, including cleaning the carpets, general cleaning and replacing floors, if necessary. You can hire a subcontractor to take care of a punch out list for the apartment to ensure that it is ready for the new tenants to move in once those other tasks have been completed.

Of course, no system is going to be perfect and there are going to be times when a breakdown in communication causes issues with the maintenance personnel. It is very important for you to address those issues as early as possible and to reestablish communication both up and down the line. Not only will this help to keep the maintenance staff operating smoothly, it will help to boost the profitability of your facility.
