Using Recycled Materials for your Remodeling Needs

Are you thinking of remodeling your kitchen floors or bathroom walls

? Why not consider tile? Tile is a great choice for flooring not only for its long lasting durability, but also for its fire resistant safety. Unlike other flooring such as carpet, tile does not absorb liquids that could potentially cause bad odors. Tile is also resistant to collecting dust mites, mold spores, and dirt.

One of the latest new tile developments is the use of recycled tile. In past recent years green trends have been on the rise, so it is no surprise that more and more people are starting to remodel their homes using recycled materials. This type of tile isn't popular for just its environmentally friendly qualities. Recycled tile is also known for its appealing appearance not found in tiles made from raw materials. The difference is the luminous iridescence recycled glass tiles possess.

Choosing to remodel your home flooring using recycled floor or wall tile, is not only a smart choice for you, but also for the environment. Recycled tile last just as long as non-recycled tile and just as resistant to fire, dirt, mold etc. Unlike non-recycled flooring such as linoleum, recycled tiles are not made with harmful chemical nor do they contain harmful chemicals that give off fumes.

Using recycled materials cuts down waste and reduces the frequency of mining for materials such as clay, which is needed to produce tile flooring. In addition to cutting waste, and reducing the use of our resources, utilizing recycled materials also decreases energy since making a product from "waste" requires fewer steps then producing a product from raw materials. All of this results in the reduction of pollution.
