As a frequent flier, getting the flights tickets booked at various time periods, such as two months ahead, a month ahead, a week ahead, last minute reservations are a humdrum affair for you. You must have already noticed that the earliest booking got you the best price, i.e. the highest discounts. This is true; so book your flights tickets as early as you can as soon as you plan to fly to a certain destination. There are domestic and international airlines like SpiceJet, GoAir, Indian Airlines, and more.

It is advisable that if you are a frequent flier both domestically and internationally, select one particular airline such as Indian Airlines and register with the airline's frequent flier program. And if you are a frequent traveler to domestic destinations, you can choose SpiceJet or GoAir or other low cost airlines. Getting registered for such a program will entitle you to acquire points as you travel. You may even be fortunate to fly for free after acquiring some specified number of points.

Most of the flights like SpiceJet flights, GoAir flights, Indian Airlines flights, etc. cover a number of cities, nearly all airport destinations in the country. Many a time, it happens that airlines have a number of empty seats. In such a case, to attract travelers, they lower the regular current fare rather than taking off with empty seats. So at times last minute booking may prove advantageous for you. It does not happen always. But for those who plan sudden trips can avail the benefits of low airfares. You can find the reduced rates if you conduct a search at a travel portal or visit the corporate site of your desired airline.

You may not get meals on board for free in low cost flights like GoAir flights, SpiceJet flights, etc. Certain flights like Indian Airlines flights provide meals for free as charges are included in the fare itself.
